Internship with México PR

All Spanish and International Business majors at Clemson University are required to complete an internship with an international organization. The past fall semester during my senior year, I had the valuable opportunity to intern at Hostal Mexico PR, a hospitality business located in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Hostal Mexico PR serves international travelers and pilgrims from around the world, making it an ideal environment to apply both Spanish language skills and international business knowledge in a real-world setting.

As a receptionist at Hostal Mexico PR, I was responsible for several important roles that supported the daily operations of the hostal. I managed guest check-ins and check-outs, handled reservations and payments, and communicated with guests in both Spanish and English. I also provided customer service by answering questions about the city, local attractions, transportation, and accommodations, ensuring guests had a positive and welcoming experience. In addition, I assisted with administrative tasks such as scheduling, record keeping, and coordinating with other staff members to maintain efficient operations.
